Stanton, Iowa...
is a proud community of around 700 people
located seven miles east of Red Oak on Highway 34. Stanton is
best known for its Swedish heritage, which can be experienced
through the Swedish Heritage and Cultural Center, located in the
center of town, and the Swedish Coffeepot Water Tower, known as
the largest in the world. In 1997 Stanton was honored as the top
tourism community in Iowa (pop. under 5000) because of these
attractions.
Stanton is also the home of Viking
Lake, a popular state park used for
fishing, swimming, camping, boating, picnicking, and hiking.

Stanton Community Schools are
located on the north side of Stanton. All grades, K-12,
have been in the same complex since 1994, when the
elementary addition was completed. Enrollment has been
increasing in recent years, no doubt a tribute to the
quality of education and student life that Stanton
students enjoy. Phone: (712)
