Title

Funeral Parlor Fan

Body

We have discovered a personal fan given out by the J.W. Laws Drug Store, year of issue unknown.  Mr Law said his drug store was the Leading Drughist in Stanton and the area.
The picture on the front of the fan is of General Putnam escaping from the British troops on a black stalion.

The Law drug store was the leading dealer for Putnam products including Dyes, which were used in the early days quite often by house wives to dye material for curtains, dresses and shirts for the family.  Another product was the Putman Straw Hat dye.  It was towted as being the thing that would make your old straw hat look like new and it was guarunteed when dry not to be sticky or run.  It even came in two colors.

Lastly, Putman Dry Cleaner, was sold to help the home owner who could'nt afford to take things to the cleaner (if one was available) to clean their own suites or dresses.  Come have a look at this piece of history
